Do you have an idea that could improve the bottom line of farms in Vermont? Is there something you think the state should or should not be doing to help farmers? Here is an opportunity to discuss your ideas and concerns with Chuck Ross, the Vermont Secretary of Agriculture. He will be holding a series of listening sessions throughout the state to hear and discuss what’s on the mind of farmers. Each session will include brief presentations on steps we can each take to be better prepared for an emergency or disaster and initiatives within VT’s farmland conservation program. After the presentations, the floor will be opened up for a question and answer session about how the state and specifically the Agency of Agriculture can address the issues facing farms and agriculture in general today. The sessions will be held in the afternoon at the following locations:

Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 2-4pm, at the Emery Hebard State Office Building in Newport

Friday, December 6, 2013 from 2-4pm, at the UVM Extension Conference Room in St. Johnsbury. (The address is 374 Emerson Falls Rd, Suite 1)

Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from 2-4pm, at the downtown state office building in Bennington

Friday, January 10, 2014 from 1-3 pm, at the library in St. Albans
